Lyrical Collage-Photoshop

Working on this was fun and simple as I've grown familiar with Photoshop due to past failures. As soon as we were told to do a lyrical collage the idea of a car on an open road popped into my mind. Something about the sense of freedom and independence I feel whenever I'm behind the wheel of a care always soothes me.

The original image simply has the Lamborghini facing away from us. The balloon, yacht, incoming car and the words on the license plate along with the quote at the top where done by me (and I actually had fun doing it, who would of known?). Adding these various elements didn't take too long. I've grown accustomed to using the "Quick Selection" and "Refine Edge" tool. The only hard part was playing around with the image colors trying to fit them in without making them look too photoshopped.
Another tool incorporated in this project was one we learnt in class on Monday the 15th April. To give the incoming car the look that it was just turning into view I used the layer mask "reveal tool". This came in very handy.

Pandora's Box-Brush Preset

Who knew photoshop was sooo difficult to work with!!! This project was stress from day one.

This project almost made me hate the program. I watch tutorial after tutorial on youtube to finally come up with this graphic. The image is supposed to represent Pandora's box closing and pulling all the world's contents back. Everything from the leaves on the tree, the birds being skewed and the horse being tilted up are supposed to show the open box vacuuming the world back into itself.

In the above graphic the river was painted/filled with a lake pattern I created. The birds, horse, leaves and tree are all brushes I created. Over the graphic background I placed a kinda warpy bubbly affect (I can't remember what it was, I just played around with an overlay affect until I found something that looked windy).

I enjoyed no part of this project.

Me and my friends on tour

The self insertion project was rather fun. Once I started playing around with the placing tool I couldn't stop finding different backgrounds to sample. The possibilities truly are limitless which in turn made it difficult to settle on one picture to put up.

As you may of noticed by now I've always been fascinated with my Egyptian roots. It's a part of me I've never really gotten to know. As soon as we had a chance to work on a self insertion project I knew I was going to use the pic of my friend and I passed out in Belgium last summer, I just had to. Adding it to the Sphinx picture wasn't hard. I played around with the hue colors and saturation until I finally found something I found believable looking.

The next picture is inspired by my second favorite holiday spot (after Belgium) Paris, France. I played around with a few Eiffel Tower backgrounds but eventually decided to settle with a black and white picture.

ART 210 Madhatter

"The shy and timid Pikachu". The traditional Pikachu, as anyone who has ever come across one of the world's largest franchises knows, is a yellow character. I decided to go with red because I felt like it gave the character more of a shy look, the aim of this was to show Pikachu's alter ego from the cute but strong and confident hero he portrays to be with his "master" Ash. The white wings along with the black belly and white bow-tie where simply done to give the character a look of innocence and transparency that I believe most shy people have as well as to keep in the theme of "alter" (opposite) portrayal of Pikachu.

Creating the outlines wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I made sure to keep all the different parts of the character on different layers. Making sure to label each part made it really easy to keep track of what was going on. All in all working with Illustrator was the most fun I've had in the class thus far as it really allows more freedom to play around and achieve the ideas you have in your mind.

Marketing Logo

"On The Go" originally started out as a phone application. This app is designed to help young aspiring artists do amateur recordings of their music wherever they are at any time. This app recently branched out due to global increase in demand for the software. The founder of this product, Roddy Jaker Watum (RJW), along with his advisers found it was time to start producing physical units of this product for those artists who prefer playing their instruments out loud as they create. Our product comes with two top of the range RJW microphones, a mini amplifier with a five year warranty, the latest RJW headphones, an electric memopad for writing down lyrics and an electric version of the artist's preferred instrument. This electric version of the instrument allows the artist to play their music right into the amplifier when they plug their headphones in,  making it perfect to record music in designated quiet areas. Our product comes in a futuristic case which could be shrunk to fit into your back pocket. "On The Go" is the future of all amateur music production.

In the above logo I was aiming to create an image that displayed the essence of my company and what it does. From left to right; the motion lines show the movement aspect of my company as the primary focus is to allow our artists to be able to record anywhere they are, The lines inside the briefcase (the briefcase designed to allure to the portable aspect of our company) are equalizers. Equalizers are seen by all who record music and are a symbol of music production, under the briefcase are two 70's record players along with the scratcher used to play them. These were put in to keep in theme with the music and movement aspect alive in the logo. Outside the briefcase on the right are music notes. Our company was created for musicians at the end of the day. Inside the briefcase is the actual company name "On The Go" along with the symbol I plan to be printed on all "On The Go" products. The trademark (TM) was just for fun.

Working with illustrator was fairly easy compared to the previous HTML coding we did. I had a lot of fun using illustrator as it was easier and faster to achieve my vision. This project wasn't as time consuming but was still difficult in its own way. The hardest and most annoying part was creating and aligning all the different squares of the equalizer. Eventually I just created different rectangles going across the horizontal plane and then ,to create the equalizer effect, I placed lines going vertically through all the rectangles. Each different color is a different rectangle.
